Coordinator for Civic Engagement
Charis supports students’ active participation in civic life through voter education and civic engagement programs, including training student leaders and working with TU departments and civic leaders. Charis leads the TU Votes Coalition, organizes TU Community Conversation programs, coordinates the Civic Renewal Fellows program, and supports TU’s Andrew Goodman Puffin Democracy Fellows. Charis received her M.A. in Communication and Advocacy at TU and a B.A. in English Communication and Technology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She enjoys laughing with family and friends, impromptu adventures somewhere new and expressing her creativity through cooking, makeup and writing.

Amara Miller
Amara is a 2nd year Counseling Psychology student at Towson University. At TU, she serves as the Graduate Assistant for Civic Engagement in the Office for Social Impact. Amara is the youngest of 4 siblings and enjoys going to concerts. Her passion is for working with Black LGBTQ+ youth and her favorite color is purple.
